Rely on the expertise of AIR consultants to improve your catastrophe risk analysis and management.

Using our industry-leading models and software, AIR consultants quantify your exposure to catastrophe risk so you can make risk management and mitigation decisions that align with your business goals. Find out how we can help you optimize investments, reduce complexity, and focus on opportunities to grow your business.

Evaluation

To begin a catastrophe risk assessment, AIR conducts an extensive review of your exposure data and data collection processes to build your unique risk profile. Incomplete or erroneously coded data can have dramatic impacts on modeled loss estimates. Probabilities are estimated for various levels of loss that a company may experience given their portfolio of exposures.

Analysis

Results from the evaluation provide the necessary detail to determine which perils, regions, lines of business, policy forms, and even building characteristics, are driving large-loss potential. Our consultants perform detailed sensitivity analyses to help you review territory definitions, evaluate the impact of altering policy conditions, quantify a reasonable per diem value for additional living expense or business interruption coverage, or plan an overall catastrophe loss reduction program.

Planning

AIR’s detailed risk analyses provide guidance for enhancing underwriting and pricing strategies. Our consultants can advise you on the application of Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs), financial protection programs such as reinsurance and securitizations, rate plan design based on risk mitigation features, and best practices for filing rates with proper consideration of overall catastrophe risk and its allocation to territories and rating classes.

Implementation

Once your plan has been developed, we can help you put it into action. Our actuarial consultants work with you to integrate the measurement and management of catastrophe risk into your Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, and comply with rating agency requests for information, such as AM Best’s Supplemental Rating Questionnaire (SRQ) and Fitch’s Prism capital model. AIR can also answer questions posed by regulators and provide expert testimony on behalf of clients at rate hearings. We will help you truly “own your risk” through a deeper understanding of our models, and your exposure and loss potential.
